Living the Christian Life Magazine

The reason for fellowship lies in the fact that we are part of God’s family, The test  is whether we are walking in His ways

To walk in truth is to abide in the vine

3.  Test of Genuine fellowship maintained.

Through advocacy of Christ

we can maintain continued fellowship, when a believer does sin we have an advocate who represents the sinning saints on earth and restores them to fellowship with the Father on the basis of His sacrifice.

The believer who claims to walk in the light and in fellowship with the Father is bound to imitate  Christ in His walk in humility and self sacrifice. To effectively abide in the vine as in the gospel of John ch15. V5

I am the vine, ye are the branches.

He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing.

It is through this abiding that the old nature that is subdued, as we live out our lives in the Spirit and allow the Spirit to dwell fully

To abide in Christ is, on the one hand, to have no known sin unjudged and unconfessed, no interest into which He is not brought, no life which He cannot share, and on the other hand, the abiding one takes all burdens to Him, and draws all wisdom, life, and strength from Him.

Therefore nothing is allowed in life which separates from that fellowship

The more we allow the Holy Spirit to take control, the closer our walk and fellowship with the Father is.

In our eartly family we as children strive  to please and obey our parents, so it should be with our heavenly Father, our constant joy is to  obey.

1John Ch2 v3-4 reminds us

And by this we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments,

He that saith, I know him, and keep not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him

John uses “commandments”

1 In a general sense of the divine will,     His word v5

2. and especially of the law of Christ

    Gal 6.2 and 2John 5

Can we this pass the tests of Genuine fellowship with the Father

Read Jude. V3-4  and Heb 10. V19-25
